Peter Lafford’s Bio

Peter Lafford, with a background in language education and thirty years in Academic Technology, has a strong foundation to provide the perfect voice to your voiceover and narration needs.

The principal name reader at Arizona State University’s graduations and convocations for over 25 years, Peter has prepared well over 100,000 names from all around the world for in-person, and now virtual and online, ceremonies, recording over 50,000 names for various university and high school graduations since Spring 2020 alone. With a B.A. in French Linguistics from Cornell, an M.A. in French from Middlebury, and an M.A. in English from Arizona State University, Peter is also an accomplished vocalist and musician. Promoting a sustainable future, Peter is an active advocate for EV’s and renewable energy, and wrote and produced a three-minute video describing the rooftop solar and storage system he had installed on their house in Arizona, before relocating to Charlottesville, Virginia in the fall of 2021. That video is included in the demos available on this website.

From his home studio, Peter can provide authentic voiceovers with French, German, and Spanish, having lived a year each in France and in Colombia, and with extended stays in Germany and Austria. A polymath with broad interests and expertise, Peter looks forward to recording your commercial, medical, scientific, e-learning, or entertainment communications.
